Announcing The LIFE Project
You might have seen me mention this before, but it's time for me to get back to talking about what I'm ACTUALLY doing.
If you follow me on any of my social networks, you probably saw I’ve been talking a lot more about the LIFE Project. The change might seem out of the blue, but there is some method behind the madness (I hope). I just wanted to get started while I still had a strong sense of urgency, or else it would be relegated to the do-later limbo.
A Little Bit of Context
Last week, I posted an update on my goals for the year as we were at about the half-way mark. Talking about these higher-level goals required for me to explain why mine look so strange. Which is to say: instead of setting SMART Goals for the year like I used to, I use a theme/mission/project framework.
I don’t want to go into that too much here, but you can read the update to see what I mean.
The Half-Way State of The LIFE Project Update
We’re halfway through 2026, so I’m returning from my quarterly break to glance over what I want to do, how far I progressed, and what I want to focus on for the rest of the year.
Point is, posting the update reminded me that I used to share updates about The LIFE Project way more often. I’ve been running the project for about four years. In the beginning, I wrote about the process on my Wattpad account, but my life got a whole lot worse before it got better. The “worse” reached the point where I couldn’t make meaning and only had to process, so I went quiet.
When last week’s update post went live, several thoughts hit me at the same time. First: I was ready to talk about the LIFE Project again. Second (and arguably more importantly): Using the LIFE Project as the backbone for my content would allow me to maintain a steady stream of updates on all of my projects without being all tacky and “buy my book”.
AND. I do love talking about this stuff.
I’m not comfortable with putting myself out there as some self-help or wellness guru (Ew.), but I’d like to think someone out there needs to hear what my experience was like when I was fighting my way out of the burnout black hole. Especially when a lot of what I did can’t exactly be classified as conventional.
A Rough Outline of the Plan
At the moment, the plan still needs some refining, so keep an eye out for future announcements. For now, let me share what I have in mind.
The first part will be a series of short videos about The LIFE Project. The videos will be about the project itself, where it came from, and how I implemented it, along with any lessons I’ve learnt in the process. I’ll also be sharing updates on how I’m progressing.
The other part of the plan is to resume the book I started writing on Wattpad about embarking on The LIFE Project. Wattpad isn’t really drawing me anymore, so I’m going to move the chapters to Patreon and Substack one by one, before resuming the writing. I’m still figuring out the best way to do this, but I know I need to do it. I might eventually turn the chapters into a published book, but regardless of whether that happens, I want to have a record of the full background somewhere.
There’s just one thing, though. Assuming I go through with publishing the chapters as I write them… I’m paywalling them. I know it’s important to write about my experiences as honestly and as bravely as possible, but I don’t think I can do it while having the drafts fully out in the open. A LOT of stuff happened that need to be parsed into this project. Some of it is frankly unbelievable. But I don’t want to send crazies digging through my past to find the people involved. So I’ll rather paywall to deter that from happening. In my way of thinking, the fact that it won’t be immediately searchable for any random person to track works in my favor. I still haven’t fully figured this part out, though, but I’ll keep you posted as and when I find the right way forward. I don’t want to take this step lightly.
That’s it from me for now. I have several things coming in the near future, so please do keep an eye out for updates. On that subject, these are the places you can find me on social media:
Substack/Notes
Twitch
Patreon
Instagram
Facebook
TikTok (this is new)
YouTube
Bluesky
Just search for Misha Gerrick and I should be right there.
How are you doing? Any interesting news on your end? Also, please do share thoughts and comments on this if you have anything helpful for me to consider as I plan this out.
